20th Century Fox has announced the expansion of their release schedule through 2013...
Taken 2 will open in theaters on October 5, 2012. Following on the heels of the sleeper hit Taken, which although earned a modest $26 million on its' opening, it saw amazing legs, finishing with over $120 million. Since then, star Liam Neeson has been in Unknown, which grossed just over $60 million earlier this year.
Sports drama Of Men and Mavericks will follow on October 26, 2012. Based on the amazing true story of Jim Moriarty, it tells the story of a man who wishes to surf the most dangerous wave, and his amazing adventure to get there.
Following that, comedy Parental Guidance will open on November 21, 2012. Starring comedian legends Billy Crystal and Bette Midler, they star as two grandparents who try to take their old-school way of guidance to their more hyper grandchildren.
The biggest new release announced is the highly-anticipated 5th Die Hard movie (if I'm not mistaken), titled A Good Day To Die Hard. The Die Hard movies have been box office hits, with the latest installment set to release in theaters on February 14, 2013.
The other new addition is Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, scheduled for March 27, 2013. It follows The Lightning Thief, which earned $90 million domestically and nearly $250 million worldwide. No word yet if the director and cast will return.
The final major schedule change was proposed 3-D event Walking with Dinosaurs was moved up to October 11, 2013. It was originally scheduled for December 20, 2013.
