Its' turning into another strong weekend...
Man of Steel collected an absolutely fantastic estimated $21 million from Thursday evening/midnight grosses. However, its' important to remember that $12 million of that came from Wal-Mart selling tickets to exclusive evening showings. Regardless, this is a strong start, and hints that the Superman flick will likely earn at least $100 million for the weekend.
Also off to a solid start, R-rated comedy This is the End tallied solid numbers of $7.8 million and $4.5 million on Wednesday and Thursday for a $12.3 million 2-day tally. That's about in line with Pineapple Express' first two days, and that movie would post a $36 million five-day launch, and if End even falls just a few million shy of that, it would still be a strong opening for an ensemble comedy.
