Labor Day Weekend Box Office Predictions

It's the end of summer, which means most audiences are taking in as much as they can before kids head back to school. And not much to report. One somewhat nationwide release, Don't Let Go, is opening, but its' not expected to make much and it may not even reach the Top 10 based on overall awareness (and genre competition). And overall business will probably fall short of last year, which had Warner Bros. in first and second place with Crazy Rich Asians and The Meg.

Here is the predicted Top 10 for the 3-day and 4-day:

3-day Weekend:

#1: Angel Has Fallen ($13 million, -39%)
#2: Overcomer ($7 million, -15%)
#3: Good Boys ($6.7 million, -43%)
#4: The Lion King ($6.5 million, -20%)
#5: Hobbs and Shaw ($5.75 million, -29%)
#6: The Angry Birds Movie ($5.5 million, -14%)
#7 (tie): Ready or Not ($4.5 million, -40%)
#7 (tie): Dora and the Lost City of Gold ($4.5 million, -14%)
#9: Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark ($4 million, -34%)
#10: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood ($3.3 million, -34%)

Don't Let Go ($2 million)

Including Monday

#1: Angel Has Fallen ($17 million)
#2: Overcomer ($9.3 million)
#3: The Lion King ($9 million)
#4: Good Boys ($8.8 million)
#5: Hobbs and Shaw ($7.8 million)
