Weekend Box Office Predictions for July 12-14, 2019...

This weekend features two new moderate releases, as overall business slows down a bit to prepare for next week's roaring (pun intended) new release. Overall business however will likely struggle behind last year, which featured the $45 million debut of Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation.

Taking a more light approach to the weekend predictions this week, as its' been a busy and unpredictable week here...

Stuber seems to have the best bet out of both new releases. There hasn't been any real adult comedies in theaters for quite some time, and the "Uber" driver concept will appeal to modern audiences. However, buzz hasn't really caught on, and Dave Bautista has yet to be tested outside of the Marvel Universe as far as acting goes. Expect a debut in the low-to-mid teens millions.

Crawl, meanwhile, is hoping to appeal to horror audiences. The unique concept plus the solid marketing effort should help. Buzz also hasn't been the greatest either, however. And horror audiences have pretty much had their fill this summer (especially over the past month). I think it will get to around $10 million, if not a little lower.

Spider-Man: Far From Home will easily remain #1, and how it will hold will depend on if audiences rushed out to see it opening week. I think it will probably end up with around a 55% drop.

Here's my predicted Top 10:

#1: Spider-Man: Far From Home ($42 million, -55%)
#2: Toy Story 4 ($20 million, -41%)
#3: Stuber ($14 million)
#4: Crawl ($10 million)

#5: Yesterday ($7 million, -31%)
#6: Aladdin ($5 million, -34%)
#7: Annabelle Comes Home ($4.5 million, -52%)
#8 (tie): The Secret Life of Pets 2 ($3 million, -36%)
#8 (tie): Midsommar ($3 million, -55%)
#10: Men in Black: International ($2.5 million, -34%)
