Weekend Box Office Predictions for June 1-3, 2018.

June looks to get off to a very subdued start as overall business is certain to fall behind this same weekend last year, which featured the debut of Wonder Woman ($103 million).

Here is the projected Top 10:

#1: Solo: A Star Wars Story ($36 million, -57%)

Memorial Day Weekend openers usually drop pretty hard in their second weekends. While word-of-mouth seems positive for this spin-off, I don't believe it will buck that trend in any way. Regardless, with a weak looking set of openers, it should easily stay on top.

#2: Deadpool 2 ($22 million, -49%)

After an alarming decline that lost 2/3 of its opening weekend business, this R-rated sequel should level off a bit this weekend particularly with no real competition opening.

#3: Adrift ($14 million)

This true-story survival thriller is tracking to open solidly this weekend. Especially with no real date night options over the past couple of months, this is an excellent case of counter-programming. Early reviews are kind-of mixed (59% on Rotten Tomatoes), but that probably won't stop its' core audience.

#4: Avengers: Infinity War ($10 million, -42%)

With no added competition this weekend, expect Marvel's penultimate entry to continue to hold solidly through the next few weeks.

#5: Book Club ($7 million, -30%)

Yes, this is proving to be a classic case where older audiences continue to come out slowly in support of this sleeper success story.

#6: Action Point ($4.5 million)

With little marketing and a lack of real confidence from distributor Paramount, the Johnny Knoxville flick looks to only attract minimal attention over this weekend.

#7: Life of the Party ($3.5 million, -35%)

Melissa McCarthy should see a solid hold as there's no added competition for its PG-13 audience (if it were R, that would probably be a different story).

#8: Upgrade ($3 million)

Debuting in semi-wide release, this horror flick has been earning solid attention from critics (85% on Rotten Tomatoes), but has received hardly any buzz or awareness. In this case, this could be a bit too optimistic a forecast.

#9 (tie): Show Dogs ($2 million, -39%)

A lack of competition should help it, but family audiences generally have ignored this one.

#9 (tie): Breaking In ($2 million, -53%)

Added competition for females (Adrift) probably won't help this one hold onto audience's attention much longer.
