#1: Avengers - Infinity War (Disney/Marvel)
Domestic Gross: $500 million
Worldwide Gross: $1.6 billion
10 years of storytelling and characters is all coming down to this. Marvel and movie fans are thrilled with what they have seen so far, and they will be out in droves. The previous Avengers movie, Age of Ultron topped out at $460 million, while Captain America: Civil War earned $410 million. Based on anticipation, I can see Infinity War topping those two, though not reaching the first Avengers' $625 million domestic gross from 2012.
#2: Jurassic World - Fallen Kingdom (Universal)
Domestic Gross: $475 million
Worldwide Gross: $1.5 billion
Fallen Kingdom's first trailer reception was a little on the mixed side. And it would be unrealistic to expect the sequel to match the first Jurassic World's massive $650 million domestic final gross. But, there's still plenty of interest here in dinosaurs and Chris Pratt. I do see this sequel losing a little bit of steam, but still proving to be a huge hit for Universal.
#3: The Incredibles 2 (Disney/Pixar)
Domestic Gross: $450 million
Worldwide Gross: $1.1 billion
Animation fans have been wanting this sequel for years. With that in mind, generations of fans will likely come out in droves to see this. Look for results in between Finding Dory ($490 million) and Toy Story 3 ($415 million) for domestic grosses, while the worldwide gross should handily top $1 billion.
#4: Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (Warner Bros.)
Domestic Gross: $225 million
Worldwide Gross: $850 million
#5: Deadpool 2 (Fox/Marvel)
Domestic Gross: $300 million
Worldwide Gross: $800 million
The first Deadpool was an unexpected phenomenon. Look for overseas growth here, while the domestic numbers should fall a little bit due to the much more crowded summer marketplace (the first film opened in February, a much-less crowded month).
#6: Solo: A Star Wars Story (Disney/Lucasfilm)
Domestic Gross: $300 million
Worldwide Gross: $775 million
This is a tough one to predict. Its' Star Wars, so we know its going to be a hit. However, the mixed reception of The Last Jedi plus the troubled production history behind this spin-off will only hurt this movie. Plus a much more crowded summer release date will likely guarantee this as the lowest-grossing entry in the Disney part of the franchise so far. Though that's not necessarily a bad thing based on the numbers I'm forecasting here. Though, of course, the movie could prove to be better than expected and blow my expectations out of the water.
#7: Mission: Impossible VI (Paramount)
Domestic Gross: $175 million
Worldwide Gross: $650 million
The previous two Mission: Impossible movies earned $700 million worldwide on positive reviews. This sixth installment should continue the strong overseas versus domestic numbers.
#8: Bumblebee: The Movie (Paramount)
Domestic Gross: $175 million
Worldwide Gross: $625 million
This is yet another tricky movie to predict. Transformers: The Last Knight earned $600 million worldwide, but was a disappointment domestically. It will be the overseas popularity of the Transformers characters that will help this Bumblebee spin-off likely break into the year's Top 10.
#9: Aquaman (Warner Bros.)
Domestic Gross: $215 million
Worldwide Gross: $600 million
Coming off of the financial disappointment of Justice League, Warner Bros. will be turning its attention to Aquaman. While I'm not sure it will be able to reach the heights of that movie worldwide (or Wonder Woman, considering he's a less-known character), this solo movie should be able to still pull in decent results (if the budget is kept lower).
#10: Black Panther (Disney/Marvel)
Domestic Gross: $250 million
Worldwide Gross: $600 million
Coming into February, its' going to be a stretch for Black Panther to earn as much as Guardians of the Galaxy and Thor: Ragnarok from last year. He's also not as popular of a character in comparison to other Avengers. But, buzz and reception has been undeniably strong. If reviews are strong, then maybe my predictions are a little conservative. But, $600 million is still very good indeed.
