Weekend Box Office Predictions for March 27-29, 2015.

Top 10:

#1: Get Hard ($35 million)
#2
: Home ($32 million)
#3: Insurgent ($25 million, -52%)
#4: Cinderella ($21 million, -40%)
#5: It Follows ($5 million)
#6: Kingsman: The Secret Service ($3 million, -33%)
Run All Night ($3 million, -40%)
#8: Do You Believe? ($2.5 million, -31%)
The Second-Best Exotic Marigold Hotel ($2.5 million, -30%)
      The Gunman ($2.5 million, -50%)

Get Hard has been marketed very strong over the past few weeks. With little to no adult comedies in the marketplace since Christmas (The Wedding Ringer being an exception), this seems poised to break out. Reviews haven't been great, but they will hardly matter.

DreamWorks Animation, after taking write-downs with four of their last six movies and having several layoffs, is in dire need of a hit. And sadly, based on tracking, Home isn't expected to deliver. There's always a chance it can break out if kids desperate for entertainment come out, but reviews have been among the worst ever for a DWA film.

With great reviews, look for horror flick It Follows to connect with mainstream audiences and perhaps over-perform.

Insurgent should hold decently with little competition for its teenage audience, but it won't hold spectacularly. Cinderella should have a better hold than last weekend with Home not expected to break out. The remainder of the Top 10 list will be a near 5-way logjam between winter leftovers, with Kingsman, Do You Believe? and Marigold Hotel to hold the best out of the bunch. In fact, do not be surprised if the middle movie of that three holds even better than what I am saying.
