Friday Box Office Report: "Skyfall" Off To Huge Start, "Lincoln" Impresses in Limited Release...

(Due to some internet complications, I apologize for no blog activity this week)

It was a great day at the box office, as revenue will be up from last year...

Skyfall came out on top with an estimated $30.8 million, easily the biggest number for a James Bond movie to date (outpacing Quantum of Solace's $27 million Friday, on its' way to $67.5 million for the weekend).  If it follows a similar trajectory (2.5 multiplier), then Skyfall will likely hit $77 million for the weekend.

Wreck-It Ralph held decently in second, down 42% to an estimated $7.8 million, or about in line with Puss in Boots and MegaMind's second Friday grosses (albeit with a slightly higher decline).  With strong word-of-mouth and kids off school Monday, expect Ralph to perform more like Puss and earn $32 million for the weekend.

Flight ($4.3 million), Argo ($1.8 million) and Taken 2 ($1.2 million) rounded out the Top 5 on Friday, on their way to $13 million, $6 million and $4 million weekends...

Weekend estimates coming tomorrow....
