Sort of a follow-up on my "Ups and Downs" post a couple of weeks ago, but following on the heels of signing a new distribution deal with 20th Century Fox, DreamWorks Animation and its' new distributor announced plans for 12 animated films to be released in four years.
The final DreamWorks Animation production to be released by Paramount is children's book adaptation Rise of the Guardians, set for November 21, 2012.
Here are the 12 films announced for release:
---The Croods (March 22, 2013): Cavemen comedy, starring voices of Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds and Cloris Leachman.
---Turbo (July 19, 2013): Snail wanting to compete in racing, starring voice of Ryan Reynolds and many others.
---Mr. Peabody and Sherman (November 1, 2013): adaptation of classic cartoon, starring voice of Ty Burrell.
---Me and My Shadow (March 14, 2014): computer/hand-drawn animation hybrid, starring voices of Toby Gad and Bill Hader
---How To Train Your Dragon 2 (June 20, 2014): sequel to 2010's How To Train Your Dragon.
---Happy Smekday! (November 26, 2014): alien teams up with teenage girl to save Earth, starring voices of Jim Parsons and Rihanna.
---The Penguins of Madagascar (March 27, 2015): spin-off of Madagascar, starring the Penguins, based on hit cartoon series.
---Trolls [working title] (June 5, 2015): based on the Troll Dolls, starring voices of Chloe Moretz and Jason Schwartzman
---B.O.O. (November 6, 2015): Ghost-themed academy, starring voice of Seth Rogen.
---Mumbai Musical [working title] (December 19, 2015): musical film set in India, directed by Kevin Lima (Enchanted, Tarzan).
---Kung Fu Panda 3 (March 18, 2016): threequel to 2008's Kung Fu Panda and 2011's Kung Fu Panda 2.
---How To Train Your Dragon 3 (June 18, 2016): threequel to How To Train Your Dragon.
20th Century Fox and Blue Sky Animation also announced Rio 2, set for April 14, 2014.
